  2. I just caved. 13”, coming from an 11” M2 iPad Pro (soon to become an hand-me-down in the family). They did it, with that weight and that thinness they finally convinced me to go 13”, 9 years after the unveiling of the original 12.9” iPad Pro. It took six unwieldy 12.9” iPad generations, but seventh time’s a chance. And, nano-texture. (yeah yeah I know the whole internet right now likes to advice against it if you don’t have a specific professional need for it, “if you have to ask it’s not for you”, but I have plenty of glossy screens in my life already, and it will be nice to have something different for a change after more than a decade of glossy iPads) May God have mercy of my wallet.

    Scam?

The second one literally says "buy used"
  4. i would recommend to not make everything so huge, very hard to read the text
  5. Oh no, sorry to hear about your lens mishap! It sounds like a repair job for sure. While some repairs can be done DIY, given the complexity of lens mechanisms, it's usually safest to entrust it to a professional. They have the expertise and tools needed to diagnose and fix the issue properly. Good luck with the repair process!
  6. The tasks will be generated for the number of threads reported by the client, unless limited in PrimeGrid project preferences. I guess if you have different BOINC settings for "in use" and "idle" that could also affect it. Since each task does roughly the same amount of work, they get about the same points. Up to user to optimise throughput. It does scale with core count, not thread count if cores are exceeded. It is not perfect scaling. I went into this in more detail at Been looking to moderate my power usage but I'll throw a few cores on it today shortly.
  7. I lowered to cl17 and took 2 off of the rest. From cl18 22 22 42. It is 2 16g 3600mhz t force Vulcan z

Why do Blu-Rays exist? In other words, why make…

maybe they were onto something, was H265 out when Blu-Ray released?
  10. it does matter, the NV2 is more expensive while simultaneously slower unless you roulette into a model that uses higher quality parts on everything, holistic user experience means nothing if their game says it'll install in 2 hours, and then when enough transfers are done they come back only to realize the game still ETA installs in 2 hours because for example the P3 Plus has reached it's peak on the cache, and as far as the review goes, the NV2 doesn't really come a lot more forward on P3 Plus in terms of sequential sustained write speeds, it's near the bottom of the graph where the P3 Plus is copying the bottom, look at this synthetic website comparison, NV2, why is it better than MP44L: wow Host Memory Buffer, so if the build isn't too much budget and running out of RAM it has cache, now why is MP44L better than NV2?: oh right, apparently it uses SLC instead of QLC storage type, which in turn makes other areas much smoother, not to mention it's cheaper in some states if not all, I mean regardless of differed user experience, you'd seriously recommend a more expensive drive that performs worse? you're on Linus Tech Tips forums, the kind of environment where you could find most people try to squeeze out performance out of every dollar they get for their stuff even if they are just running games and nothing else, look, Apex Legends: R6 Siege: DOOM 2016: These games are over 50GB in size and some are even larger, their install will depend on sustained write speeds of the drive, but if the drive shits bricks halfway through install or is shitty overall, that install will take for longer, and you're on SSD, something you'd expect to be fast suddenly isn't, and why? Because you bought the wrong SSD, but a simple fix of buying a different cheap SSD could negate or completely remove the performance hit. And then you have WD Blue SN580, which is 2$ more expensive than MP44L and 4$ cheaper than NV2 in US, what do you get? Similar perfromance to MP44L, slightly less endurance, slightly less sequential, but the HMB returns: buy it then, replace your Samsung 980 with a Kinston NV2 if it doesn't matter, If you're so keen on going out of your way explaining, in the simplest terms: "ah it's whatever" You know what? Why don't we half ass everything, why not recommend Deepcool AG400 instead of PA120 SE for the CPU cooler? the AG400 cools just enough, the end user won't worry about, PCPartPicker Part List CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler ($33.90 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Deepcool GAMMAXX AG400 ARGB 75.89 CFM CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Amazon) Total: $63.89 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2024-05-09 05:34 EDT-0400 the Deepcool is few $ cheaper too, why resort to an overpowered cooler? the end user probably won't look at the temps, they probably won't be worried that they potentially get to 70C 80C on their CPU, why would they? "Oh that one dirt cheap hardware is probably fine for that almost high-end machine."
  11. Banned because I hate doing it
  12. I think we have hit our stable City Run daily production rate after the server changes improved things, looks like we need more.
  13. I'm planning on changing my routers DNS from the ISPs DNS to cloudflares family DNS that blocks malware. Only concern I want to clear is that my brother works from home and he connects to his pc in the office through a VPN on his personal pc and I want to make sure his connection won't be disrupted or blocked accidently?

  22. Yeah and even this pile of trash was like $120 lol Idk I used to get really good fps in both CS:GO and Valorant, and still do in R6 and Apex Legends. Like I do get good frames most of the match, but at some fights it drops to low 200s and I'd like to avoid that. Both Val and CS2 are everything low, for CS I use shadows high and cmaa2, and I also drop my res to 4:3 1280x960. My fps doesn't seem to change even if I play native though. It's really rare for me to drop below the 300fps cap in Apex Legends though, and when I do it's to ~270. I really don't understand why CS2 feels so terrible, and how Valorant can drop to 180 at times
  23. Wing commander series might be ancient at this point but it's got a better likeness of Mark Hamill than either of the battlefront remakes do lol
  24. The points per task is the same, the thread count you configure on the site is mostly about getting more tasks to run at once if your L3+L2 cache size is large enough. If you have a 16 thread CPU an 8 thread and 16 thread tasks will basically take the same amount of time since far as I understand it these CUL tasks are just a cache workload more than anything else. I'm sure there is a minimum thread count but past a certain point more threads likely wont help. Divide your L3 cache amount by 22.5 and that is how many you should try and run at once, so take that figure and divide your core count (not thread).
  25. Banned for not knowing your recent computer history. Also banned above for not turning them in to fidget spinners or keychains
