BBWUB - Finale
So today I have my first day at college, I did sign up to the evening classes rather than the daytime classes. So I have some time to kill before I need to hear out so I thought let's smash out a blog post! My PC has been perfectly stable since closing the door overnight to stop the cat sleeping on the radiator. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it get's warmer and I can't do that.
First of all, I would like to thank @cbigfoot for being a diamond geezer and sorting out all of the data for this event. Honestly, a legend of a man and everyone should shank him for his continued, long-term dedication to the community and to the events we run. I also want to thank all of you who signed up for the event, seeing as we never ended up listing prizes I have decided to just let everyone who produced any points onto the final sheet.
kev507 is once again in the hot seat, sitting on the throne and taking home the golden medal now all the dust has settled. I must admit, I did not expect to see him once again swoop in and smash the event like folding is going out of style. But he did, and with 1,395, I think everyone can agree that is rather impressive for just a week of folding.
miker07, being the man he is, did not want to go softly into the night. He may not have come first, but he was running full bore right until the event ended. Miker has been in these events for a long time, and it is good to see him continuing to achieve so much. He takes the silver medal with a total of 961 Work Units.
RollinLower has managed to take home the bronze medal for this event. I'm not used to seeing him so high up in the table, but that's what we get when we add a twist. I wanted the most WUs completed for my birthday, and he answered the call. He takes the medal with 623 Work Units.
MrFinn741 may have missed out on a medal, but taking 4th place is surely something to be proud of. A solid performance and I have to say, I wish I had his compute level. Not that I could afford the electricity to use anyway... Either way, he takes his place with 513 Work Units.
Lurick was a solid performer, keeping hold of his rank for every day of this event, despite the names around him changing, in some updates quite significantly. He takes home 5th place with a total of 496 Work Units.
CWP took home 6th place, he wasn't far from being in the top five, but once all was said and done we can see that he fell only seven WUs short of the guy ahead. He processed 486 WUs this event.
Favebook managed to take 7th, a not terrible rank, but he was far behind the guy ahead with only 359 WUs. Still, I'm not going to complain, and I don't think he will either.
Egon3, 8th place suites you. It was nice trading places with you before I paid for my course, maybe someday, we will do it again. Congratulations on the rank with 329 WUs.
vsteel managed to make it to 9th place in the last couple days of the event, processing 282 WUs for the pleasure.
And finally we have vf1000ride in 10th place. Is he a man, is he a machine, I guess we will never know. But either way 249 WUs got him on the list of the top ten for this small event.
I also want to say thank you to everyone who didn't make it to the top ten, but folded anyway. I see you, I appreciate you, you contribution is just as valuable as anyone else's. It is always fun to see everyone come together and assist each other with issues, especially when they are technically competitors. But the truth is, no one in top ten, or otherwise, won here today. Humanity won, science won, we are merely the apes with thinking sand helping to advance the limits of human knowledge.
Happy folding,
Spec.
