Day Three - All Power To The Engines

The ranks are still very much in flux, which is to be expected to be the case this early in the event. As some people get going, and others tap out early, things will change, I'm not going to give too much weight to how these early ranks look outside of the fun aspect of seeing how the table is shaping up. We have had quite a few people stop folding, so here's a reminder that there are minimum requirements for the badge and prizes. The prizes are a random raffle of all participants who meet the minimum requirements so please don't be disheartened if you aren't high up the table, it really doesn't matter. All that matters is that you work on doing the best you can do!

As has become standard for this event we are going to look at how we are performing as a team first before going into the individual ranks. It is a great way to remind everyone that although we are competing, the first aim of the team is to drive forward TeamLTT and science as a whole. Today the team managed yet another record-breaking day, folding 1,957,732,267 points for the last 24 hours, it will certainly be interesting to see just how high we can push a single day's output. So far, over the last three days, we have produced 5,440,810,851 which is incredible. During the last folding month, we had not even surpassed 2.5b points by the time the third day had passed. An interesting thing to note is that despite our higher point total we chewed through fewer work units, with the final tally for today ending up as 5,218 WUs for the last 24 hours and that means we have an event total of 15,371 WUs so far. Together as a team, we have 860 days of activity which is pretty amazing if I do say so myself. The top 10 produced 36.5% of the team's points for today, with the top 50 managing slightly over 71% while the top 100 did 85% of the team's points for this update. That makes 714,414,480.00, 1,394,717,245.00 and 1,676,701,923.00 points respectively.

Well for those of you following the event thread, you will know that this is the second attempt at writing the blog post. I'm not exactly sure what happened but I lost like 90% of the post thanks to some unknown issue so let's see if the second time around is any better than the first... doubtful as I'm annoyed not but anything is possible! Mxyzptlk is once again sitting on the throne with 350,716,743 points, I don't like to make predictions this early in the event but I have to say he is looking very comfortable on that throne and is the man to beat. Shlouski is once again sitting in second place with a still impressive 334,160,240 points. But if he aspires to go any higher than he currently is he is going to need some reinforcements and the sooner the better. miker07 a well-known member of the team is sitting in third place with 300,351,672 points, he is also the third person to pass the 300m point mark. Next up we have the non-biological son of Linus himself, jakkuh_t is taking up his rank of 4th with 272,813,705 points. Justaphf is rounding out the top five, sitting in fifth place with 215,410,515 points. Alex Atkin UK may look like a sweet old man but deep down he is packing... ahem... packing GPUs of cause, get your minds out of the gutter! He takes up the rank of 6th with 153,259,250 points. Gorgon is the last person in the top ten to keep their spot,

taking the rank of 7th with 107,321,411 points. We have our first upset of the top ten, with _Rlocke gaining a rank to take up the 8th place on the table with 107,174,972 points. Another shakeup is someone who has seemingly come from nowhere, HaRdLy007 has produced an incredible amount of points today and has climbed 52 ranks to take up the number 9 spot with 102,719,428 points. Finally, we have the honourable gatekeeper. vsteel is the man of the hour to take up the post with 94,686,172 points.

Once again, with a relatively calm top ten, we are going to take a look at a few people throughout the ranks. But first, let's see where those from yesterday's blog post are now. firedfly gained another rank taking them to 12th with 88,525,419 points, baha gained another two ranks taking him to 20th with 62,280,450 points, Struck gained a further 5 ranks taking 28th with 44,428,669 points, Bigjoe35 is the crowd pleaser from last update gaining a rather incredible 36 ranks to take 15th with 83,957,953 points. So now we are all caught up let's find some new people to look into. Wandering_Luddite folded for the first time today taking the rank of 276 with 465,233 points, Burton3516 also folded for the first time today taking 263rd with 790,606 points, Aranwe is a name that sticks in my mind from previous events, he is sitting in 216th with 2,255,499 points and finally Nomeansno2, another name I'm familiar with gaining 42 places to take 157th with 5,302,790 points.

I might slip a bit as, of course, I had a dinner meeting this evening and wasn't able to baby sit the Rigs and watch as they started up again at 19:00 EST when the Electricity prices dropped and, wouldn't you know it, I came home to find 3 Rigs with 4 GPUs (all my 3000-series, except for one 3080) stuck at "Failed" which requires a reboot to get rid of. Back up and running again but as it's now the weekend and Electricity rates are at the most affordable all weekend I should be able to make up for lost time.
