Prelude
Well, the time has come for the first blog post of the event. I have to say that I am apprehensive about this year's event, not because I think anything will be wrong, outside of the usual issues, but because I'm taking part in NaNoWriMo this coming month and I'm expecting to change ADHD meds during the month.
I have to be honest that I'm surprised that I am still running events all these years later, but also, I also look forward to these events! I look forward to seeing the whole team come together to participate in the name of LTT, in the name of science and also in the name of GLORY. Watching everyone from the top echelons of the event that are vying for the throne to the lowly CPU folders who are fighting the clock to meet the minimum requirements. Talking of Miminmum requirements they haven't changed again this year, but, likely, the last time they go unchanged for a folding event, with the advancement of GPUs and even CPUs that we have seen over the last 3 years seems to point that it is time to increase them, but due to the cost of energy I decided to leave them unchanged for this event.
We have 305 people signed up for the event so far, which is a little on the lower side but to be expected with the current energy crisis and looming recession in most countries. But regardless of that, the show must go on, the event will run and we will smash it.
Please view this spreadsheet to make sure you are signed up and your details are correct.
that's all for now folks, as usual there will be daily updates here to make sure to follow the blog,
Happy Folding,
Spec.
