Corsair K30 Lighting Animations

Hello.   I have just purchased a Corsair K30 Raptor edition (at least that's what I think it's called) keyboard in a sale at a local store. Although I had my heart set on a K90, my budget is tight and I would have rather put my money in areas concerning my actual machine as opposed to the peripherals. I'm well aware that the K30 only has the red backlighting and if I wanted RGB-esque customization I should have shelled out an extra £10 for the K40, however they were all out of stock when I got

Set up a makeshift server room in my closet

Excuse the mess, I store things in here too. Anyway, I decided I wanted a server for... something, but then I decided why should I pay for something like a Raspberry Pi when I can just set up one of those computers my dad gave me as a server? So I installed Ubuntu on one and arranged it like this. Now a day later, I think I've finalized how I'll have my "server room" laid out.   Right now I'm running a Minecraft server on it, but I also have bind9 installed in case I decide to do other things

The amount of bitching and whining I've been hearing at home

This is my newest blog entry based on current events at home.   I'm sitting at the laptop typing this up while I've got thoughts running rampant through my head, thinking about both my workstation/gaming rig and also my mother's rig which she has now. What I'm tired of is hearing both her and my brother bitching and whining about their problems, which made me want to tell them to shut up and keep your thoughts to yourselves. Also my mom, again, has this assumption that no one in this world nee

Whats is the best CPU for rendering for around £300 or $445?

Hi Everyone   I was wondering if I could get some recommendation on a CPU that I could buy for around £300 or $445. I would be using it to run Maya, Z-brush, Adobe CC products (PSD, After Effects etc.) Mudbox, Nuke and Mari.   My Build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/NxRVjX   Would I be better off buying a CPU with more cores?   For example Intel Core i7 Quad-Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Processor over Intel Core i7 Quad-Core i7-5820 3.3GHz Processor   Thanks everyone

$100 or less   $300   $500   $1000 Cables This is going to be short, since I think it's a rather silly topic to begin with. Yes, they can change the sound ever so slightly - maybe (and remember, the term change isn't always a positive thing...) Anyway, in my opinion, there are only a few reasons to buy a new cable: Aesthetics. You really like the look of one and you're willing to pay the premium for that. star wars review

STARWARS SPOILER ALERT         Starwars: The Force Awakens is not the letdown I expected when it was first announced, it managed to live up to its hype without exceeding it and it is truly an awesome movie. I loved the Millennium Falcon returned, and how it was “inherited” by Rai, who I think truly is one of the best hero’s that the starwars universe will ever see. By the end of the movie Rai has complete confidence in the few “Jedi” abilities she has learned and has “opened” herself to th

system requirements for CallOfDuty Black Ops III for PC AMD side sucks

does system requirements for call of duty black ops 3 on the AMD side sucks the recommended requirement for the AMD processor is a AMD Phenom II x4 810 I have a AMD Phenom II x4 955 and it's not the Black Edition. Let's just say running the game on that processor sucks and I'm also using an R9 280x and I can't even put the game on Ultra settings because the processor is pinned at 100% in low setting

Over-Ear Headphones

How to Allocate a Budget Under $200: Get the headphone you want. Under $1000: Get the headphone you want and an amp. $1000 and up: Get the headphone you want and split the difference between an amp and DAC. If on a tight budget: only buy a DAC if your onboard has issues; only buy a soundcard if you want the software features. Make Any Headphone Into a Headset One of the most popular options is the Antlion Modmic. This will work with any headphones, but, they run about 50$, and

Pre-Christmas 2015 Setup

Nothing too fancy here, I'm hoping I'll have enough money after Christmas so I can get a 32" 4k monitor, or an ultra wide. I bought the LG back in may because both of my 24" monitors were getting horribly discolored so I kept the better of the two. I really wanted to buy another 27" LG monitor so they would match, but the 4K is really where I want to go, not for gaming but for the realestate, which I'd get more of with an ultra wide, but I'm just not so sure yet. If I had the money I'd get BOTH

Streaming console to Nvidia Shield/Steam Link through PC

Good day, Could you provide any information on how to stream Xbox1/PS4 games to any stream capable device outside of the PC or maybe even use my PC to stream a Xbox one game to play on my shield tablet without having to purchase and extras. Or are the extras needed? There are videos on YouTube on this that are from 2013(years old). Is there a newer more efficient way to stream console games to a stream friendly device? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
