MSI Afterburner GTX 770 Core Voltage question

ManOfDisguise

Im a total noob when it comes to OCing but Im just watching JayzTwoCents video on how to overclocka GPU and his 680 in the vid has +100 max core voltage. Isnt it weird how my 770 has only +12 when i slide it all the way to the right? Also when overclocking I can just leave memory clock at default as Jayz said right?

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

You can't change the voltages on 6xx or 7xx series nvidia gpus (only very few exceptions).

already tried

the only other thing you could try would be to edit the bios, but without dual bios you run the risk of bricking the card

Editing the bios is pointless if the card has the reference voltage controller (richtek? I forget..)

The card is hardware locked to 1.215v which reads as 1.175v in software.

you need to download the Afterburner Lightning edition beta version. Keep in mind that its expired but if you change your Windows date to Nov 1st open Afterburner then change it back it will work until the next reboot or shutdown. I got mine running overvolted to +100. My results stable are +100 core clock and 500+ memory clock. Here is the link http://www.guru3d.com/files_get/msi_afterburner_beta_download,17.html

Just so people know, this is for 680/770 lightning which uses a non reference voltage controller and is supported by afterburner.

No idea if there is a 'backdoor' way for the 780 lightning.
