Remeber EKs problems with their nickel plating a while ago?

 

well obviously they're having problem with their copper aswell.

 

And the best part is, by finding out you void your warranty Yay EK [=EA] As soon as you open the block to clean it, you break the warranty void seal. WHAT KIND OF WATERBLOCK CAN NOT BE OPENED TO CLEAN?! My Aquacomputer parts even come with different O-Rings to put inside the cooler.

 

Fuck EK srsly.

 

Alright:

I had a loop running with Mayhems Pastel for about 9 months.

 

Here's the inside of the EK FC680CSQ blocks:

 

Around the edges. Not removable. Tried.

 

And here's a big one ! [The red stuff is a reflection from the red bread box next to it.]

 

Now a quality waterblock [Aquacomputer]:

 

Same coolant, precisely the same amount of time in use

 

Conclusion:

 

Don't buy EK. It's crap. They havn't fixed scite.

Corrosion.

Toothbrush and the likes woulnd't do scite. Not even my fingernail.

Btw, the red glow on the 2nd picture is a reflection. The important part is the brownish / green blobb of corrosion ^^

The red looks more like staining from using a poor quality coolant/dye 

 

No the pics are after cleaning.

 

It's a reflection from the red bread-box which stood 20cm away when taking the pic [+ Phone cam and Neon lighting]

 

+ If you use colored coolant, Mayhems is about as good as it gets ^^

Ya, I dunked the toothbrush in vinegar, no difference.

 

No, and since by finding this I voided my warranty [seal broke] [ Again, what kind of manufacturer doesn't allow you to open the blocks to clean them ?! ]

I doubt they'd care all that much about it.

 

My new block's an Aquacomputer Kryographics Hawaii, will be here monday. I gladly pay the 10€ more for a quality block.

You didn't void your warranty, you just voided the 'this won't leak' guarantee they ship with which is what that sticker is for.

 

Good luck getting help from Eddy, you must have been using ph nuke or silver which are very dangerous to ek products  :rolleyes:

Been using Mayhems pastel. No kill coils or 3rd party additives.
