Best Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard

ICOULDNTTHINKOFAUSERNAME

I'd go for Quickfire TK.

I think a a better comparison would be between the Quickfire Rapid and the K65 because the Rapid isn't backlit whereas the TK is.

Best TKL keyboard? Korean custom, such as GONs, LZ- _ _, A87 etc. It'll dig a $300-$600 hole in your pocket though.

Quickfire TK also isn't a TKL. A better comparison would have been K65 vs Quickfire Rapid. I'd go with QFR for the universal keycap layout & it's easier to mod.

I am using a Leopold tenkeyless and it is great. it is essentially the same as the Filco keyboard but a little bit cheaper in terms of price and with more rounded corners on the actual keyboard. If you are in the US you can get it from elitekeyboards and they have pretty good prices.

I narrowed down my choices to the CM Storm TK and the keycool 87/84. The TK was $50USD cheaper at the time so I went with that.

I really enjoy it, even though it feels much different to my past IBM keyboards I used over the years. I still might eventually get a keycool 84 or a CM Storm Stealth to use with my chromebook that I write with on my main desk.

Pretty much, if the CM Storm TK's dimensions fit your needs, then go for it. It is a great keyboard at a great price. Are there higher end boards out there? Sure. Are they much more expensive where I find them harder to justify to myself? Absolutely. To each their own, ya know?

So again I say:

CM Storm Stealth, TK, Rapid whatever else you like from them.

Keycool 84 or 87 key

The Keycool 84 and 87 are pretty good keyboards, they stack up well even against better known brands like Ducky and Filco, I'm not saying KC is as good as them, but they measure up nicely even against these preferred brands. I have a KC 84 LED MX Black and a white KC 87 MX Brown with white PBT key caps and I can honestly say they are very, very good. KC 84 LED is above the white KC 87.

If you can't find these for cheap, then it's a toss up between the QF TK and the K65, I have the TK and can vouch for its overall quality, but I'm 'iffy' on the quality of the key caps though. I can't comment about the K65 as I don't own any Corsair mechanical keyboard, so I'm in no position to comment on its build/overall quality.

Keycool is essentially a direct knock off of a leopold from what I remember. Leopolds are actually quite nice.

Yep, as above, a DK9087 Shine 2 or 3 would be very nice indeed.....though it won't be cheap. They would look similar to my DK9087 YOTD MX Brown with Orange LED....except with different LED colors and no stylized Chinese character for dragon (just above the arrow keys)

Right now I'm stuck between the Corsair K65 and the Quickfiire TK. I'd like to know what you guys think :)

For cheap yet high quality, go for Quickfire TK

For looks, and decent quality, go for Blackwidow 2013 Tournament edition, I prefer this. I personally have a quickfire rapid, but oh my god the tournament edition looks so nice...my cousin has a regular 2013 one.

For quality and looks, go ducky. But they are expensive and overpriced.

Folding for LTT since April 2016.

The TK is the best, because it is insignificantly bigger than a tenkeyless, but has a numpad. I use the numpad often, but don't like the size of regular sized keyboards, so the TK is perfect for me :)

Just in case you want to change keyboard chassis in the future, go for the standard key arrangement TKL keyboard. Some common TKL ones are Filco, Ducky, quickfire and others I can't recall.

Some would say that of Razer.....a BWU 2013 cost more than a Ducky Shine 3 in my neck of the woods. Heck, the BWU 2013 is priced just below a Topre Type Heaven, and honestly, it's an obvious choice between the two at that price range (the Type Heaven is only about 5USD more than the BWU 2013). A Ducky has standard layout and form factor, good quality PCB and lighting effects, much more easy to customize than a BWU 2013, and available in various switch types.....that makes it a much better buy than a Razer BWU 2013.

Ducky is so not overpriced. Their keyboards' quality live up to the "you get what you pay" expectations, though I have seen prices of a Ducky go very expensive in Europe. razor keyboards, on the other hand,...........ha

I just like the matte finish and the design of the BWU 2013.

Just an opinion tho.
