toshiba satellite c875 black screen after win 10 upgrade

Hello,

 

A family member has dropped there laptop at mine today as they wanted me to have a look at it.

 

But i am at a total loss. You get the log in screen enter your password and then black screen with a mouse courser

 

I can open task manager and go in though the run option to enter programs but with the black back ground.

 

I have tried to the holding windows button and pressing P trick no good

 

tried battery out and holding power button . no good.

 

Just hoping some one can give me a suggestion. Also i cant get a recovery down as the only recovery option is at earlier today but my cusin said he did this yesterday but there is nothing there.

 

Tried a reset by pressing F12 but it says unable to reset .

 

Any help would be appreciated .
