Overclocking AMD Radeon HD 7950?

Makmarian

A friend of my have this graphic card and he want to overclock it, but how do we do that. Should we use CCC or MSI Afterburner. Should we stress test it before we overclock it, incase what program should we use, we tried Furmark but it crashed sometimes, and the same with Kombustor.

When we tried to use Furmark it only used about 63% of the GPU load. (we probably did it wrong) because it should be on 99 - 100 % on a stress test?

And we tried launching Dark Souls but it blue screened.

You need to test the overclock with things like Valley and look for artefacts and errors. I had issues with Furmark not using my GPU correctly too so the method I use now is benchmark programs for the GPU. I may have had a faulty install of Furmark however.

use MSI Afterburner - and NEVER use furmark unless you want a dead card.

What are your current load temps? Check and test via Unigine Valley or Heaven.
