Noob: Thought's on this blog's suggestions? Brain Moses 2015 DIY NAS

I am looking for an easy to follow guide with pretty much everything for a first timer like me to get started and this looks pretty good to me, thought's on what this guy says? Any red flags? I appreciate the help. 

Been building PC's for a long time but never a storage/NAS server
