X99 comparability with Corsair RM 850

I have just purchased X99 I got an asus Rampage V, i7 5820k, 16gb corsair vengeance 4x4. I am still waiting for most things to arrive, however I have just read horror stories about people with asus motherboards having their mobo and cpu catch on fire, because of the firmware in corsair power supplys interfering with the x99 chipset causing the hardware to die. Since asus has put a patent on their OC socket intel will not replace your i7 if it breaks in an asus motherboard due to it being an unofficial socket. Is my corsair RM 850 which I bought in February this year something that I should worry about?

Why would you buy a RM series PSU? They have so many issues

I have not experienced any issues with my RM 850 so far, all I want to know is if the firmware will not catch fire to an asus mobo

This issue has been resolved a long time ago with a bios update, it was a problem with the motherboard voltage regulator firmware not balancing the voltage output between the components. I think it was only affecting the asus x99 deluxe and A series. Your motherboard sould come with the unaffected uefi version, it's a good practice to update the bios (uefi) to the latest version. However logan from teksyndicate did had a major issue with a rm or hx powersupply, it was a short in the sata cable and not a problem with the x99 platform

Listen for a ticking noises.

It's the trigger for the bomb.

It's not a race to the bottom.
