iPad won't connect to iTunes

I have an iPad that was recently factory reset and given to me, but it won't start without an iTunes connection. However, the iPad won't connect to the iTunes installed on my computer. It seems that the device driver for the iPad is not installed currently on my computer and I am not sure how I could install it on the device. Help would be very much appreciated! (iPad 1)

Have you tried a different cable (easy to forget!)

If yes then try another computer? 

Itunes is the 'driver' in theory!

happened to me with my phone, went to verizion they tryed it at the store and factory restored it for me. Don't go to the apple store they will just make you buy another iPad

just put it in DFU mode and restore it
