screen tearing in youtube.

I may have found the problem. I followed this thread advice:

and reset Aero in windows. First time i pushed it, windows explorer froze. Had to restart. And know i see no tearing. And it was bad, i was getting like 2 horizontal tears. Try to play around your Aero settings.

 

The only thing you and me have in common is windows 7. I have cheap samsung s22d390. Used to run it with GTX 560. Now changed run on only integrated intel graphics, have no discrete GPU at the moment. 

 

And i too used to have those tears. While watching youtube and playing video ( i used media player classic). But it was ok with games. 

 

And dont listen to TheGeeker, internet speed has nothing to do with it. I have 100mbit connection and i still had tears. But i dont have them on my laptop.

okay so i lately i have been experiencing alot of screentearing lately (on youtube) and i have started to do some experiments within windows and various games to see whats going on. okay so i have 2 970's in sli, running on a 60hz 1080p monitor and i am getting so much screen tearing in windows. i first noticed this problem in youtube, i was watching a tech quickie video and the images were tearing only over linus' mouth level. i went into nvidia control panel to check my v-sync settings and turned v-sync on globally...it did not fix the problem. just then i opened fraps and put youtube in full screen, it showed 30 fps but i still had a shit load of tear. i then decided to drag the window over the screen and the window tears and just looks horrible. my monitor is an asus vs247hr and it is great for me, but more testing i do seems to point to my monitor being at fault. i do not have any adapters on my cables, ive tried hdmi and dvi connectors and neither of them make a difference. 

 

in google chrome v-sync is enabled, it does not go above 60fps with v-sync on. so i am completely unsure what is wrong, the dvi cable i use supports 1080p 60hz and the hdmi cable i am using supports 1080p 60hz (its the xbox one hdmi cable). 

 

i have tried resetting nvidia defaults in control panel, all v-sync settings on/off. all sorts of AA settings on/off. i have also tried turning all graphic options to max in global settings. Please help. i just want to know if its my monitor(s) or a setting on my pc so i know what i have to get rid of/fix/get hardware to get rid of the problem.

 

i have an elgato hd60 and when i record 60fps 1080p and play it there is no screen tear so i am so confuffled as to what it could be. any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Maybe you have cloned your HDD recently? I think it started to me after I migrated to ssd. It could have confused Aero theme on windows 7

yeah i bought 2 ssds. they didnt copy anything from hdd to ssd except for adobe ps and steam/steam library

i have this problem on firefox, so I use chrome. Only bad part is chrome is a ram hog and firefox is a cpu killer
