Radiator fans (PULL ONLY) - Corsair SP120 QE vs Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm

The Gentle Typhoons cost more than the Corsairs, but do they perform that much better in pull?

Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I use Sp120Q and i love them, and there is no huge performance increace by using gentle typhoons.

(Max. 1-3ºC)

Do you have any graphs to back this up? just curious

Gentle Typhoons are the best radiator fans except at low RPMs were the NF F12s win.

How many degrees cooler will the GTs be than the Corsair SP120 Quet Editions? If it's less than 3 degrees then I'll probably just get the Corsairs.

It depends on your loop and conditions so no-one will be able to tell you.

How about if it's a 36mm dual 120mm rad for just the CPU

Would they make a 5C difference?

Also, is it true that noise doubles every 3db? If that's true then the GTs are 4 times louder than the Corsairs. Not sure where I read that but I remember it from somewhere

Wikipedia:

The decibel (dB) is a logarithmic unit of measurement that expresses the magnitude of a physical quantity (usually power or intensity) relative to a specified or implied reference level. A ratio in decibels is ten times the logarithm to base 10 of the ratio of two power quantities.

depends on your loop. they could if your fans are the weakest link. I can tell you that they would be quieter

So the Gentle Typhoons are both cooler and quieter than the Corsairs?

I can't find the Gentle Typhoons on NCIX, so I am thinking of getting either the Noctua NF-F12s or the Silverstone Air Penetrator AP121s. Which of these fans would be better for pulling through a radiator?

Well scythe isn't avaible anymore in north america forgot that ( i live in the EU) But i would highly suggest trying to search for another place that has them , if you really can not find any then just go with the NF-F12's they are the second best fans for rads ever made :P

I suggest you look at this : http://us.hardware.info/reviews/2614/393-8092120140mm-case-fans-reviewed

EDIT : But yes they are more effective in pull than they are in push but still they are no match for the NF-F12 or the Gentle Typhoons , but if you cant get hold of both of these fans or really dislike the astheathics of the NF-F12's than they are a good option;)
