Project Redwing (750D) - In Progress

Brandonberg

Minor Update.

I have purchased all of the remaining water cooling parts (rad, GPU blocks fittings etc.) so alot more to come shortly. I didn't know what static pressure fans to use in the front of the case. The SP140 LEDs were way to loud and dialing them down offered redundant air flow.. then orange LTT Noctuas were announced today!!! I am quite excited. I also sketched up a plan for the hard line loop layout.

I am still in two minds about the bottom PSU cover. I have some black acrylic so i may play around with a few designs once i receive the bottom radiator.

Update #8

I have received the rest of my water cooling parts that i was waiting on. I also ordered a sample of the PET cable sleeving from Icemodz which i discovered is awesome and much easier to route and manage than paracord. I decided to order enough to sleeve all my cables and was very pleased with the results. After using their sleeving, i would recommend Icemodz to anyone looking for quality cable sleeving gear.

Here are a few shots of the new cable sleeving. And a few photos of the work in progress. Still undecided on how to do a bottom PSU cover, ideas are welcome.

Icemodz sleeving. Not sponsored in any way. Purchased this myself but found it very good quality and easy to work with.

Bottom Rad. Not much room between rad and PSU. Still unsure how to do a PSU cover at this stage but want to hide the cables if i can.

Update #9

I have been a bit lazy with updating this thread while i try and iron out a few final details of my build. A lot of hardware has been released since i started this build so the longer i leave it.. the older the parts seem! I have finished the build and flushed the loop several times. My first coolant turned dark so i was forced to drain and flush the loop several times before refilling with fresh pastel orange. I have also replace the side windows with a nice piece of glass which enhances the look sooo much. Photos do not do the side window justice. I would recommend a glass side window upgrade to anyone willing to give it a go!

I also painted a few other pieces and after making and fitting a PSU cover, decided to remove it. The PSU cover hides all the wires, but i personally prefer the look of the PSU and sleeved cables so i opted to leave it out.

I am in the process of taking a heap of photos of the final build and will post up soon! Photo below is when i was initially bleeding the loop and leak testing.

One of the reasons it's taking soo long is because i decided to build a FreeNAS box in the middle of it all. Photo of that build below and you can see more about it here.

Bleeding the loop (initial bleed. I have flushes it since then)

Rubber mounted glass, the rubber also stops light from entering the edge of the glass causing glare and highlighting dirt/scratches.

Well it has taken long enough but here are the photos of my final build. I learnt a lot of things with this build as it was my first time water cooling. I hope you all enjoy it as much as i do! Now to start planning the next one ;)
