Nvidia 650 Gpu update ruining my res

okay so i bought a whitebox that came with

 

gigabyte motherboard

AMD FX black edition (6 core) CPU

8gb RAM

1TB HDD

 

then i added 

Nvidia 650 gpu (2gb)

8gb ram

500 gb HDD 

and an extra fan

 

the pc works fantastic but when i go to play games it makes the colors render  wrong and sometimes crashes the game totally just ruins the quality and makes the games unplayable.

ive tried updating the gpu from Nvidia experience to the latest version, but when i do it adds in resolutions that my monitior cant fit and i cant adjust them and with the update it makes it to where none of my games will render.

 

so is it my pc or my gpu? any help would be fantastic!

btw i play games like Skyrim and Dynasty warriors and DBZ Xenoverse
