Overclocking

I saw video on youtube 8.4 ghz amd 8320 run.and they were using liquid helium.

I was wondering if you could do that with water let's say if i had 4xquad push pull config

would i be able to get to atleast 6ghz

(just OC)

Uh... you are a little bit too confident and optimistic.

 

Short answer: No.

 

Long answer: You would be lucky to get 5Ghz even with water cooling. With a Fan cooler, you might get up to 1.3V @ 4.5Ghz, Water maybe 4.7, But its quite hard to get up to 5Ghz (Wooo silicone lottery).

I meant to have 4 quad radiator.

But i don't still get it how they get those speed's???

I dont think so though. Maximum ive seen on air/liquid cooling is about 5GHz.

 

They get it to those speeds by using liquid helium (Usually I see Liquid Nitrogen though) to bring down the temperature of the CPU to an extremely low temp (-100 Deg C and Beyond) and then try to achive 8GHz (on one core, if im not mistaken). Its not really usable in real life conditions, people do that kind of overclocking "for fun" or during competitions to see who can get the highest overclock. The heat generated, and the amount of coolant (in this case, Liquid Helium) used is kind of not what mainstream people use.

 

And maybe putting all that in freezer what do you think?

You wont get near 6, 5Ghz is hard to get on a full loop. Putting your PC in the freezer will kill it very quickly with the water condensate.

what would an oc that high even do for your system?  Like, would minesweeper be super super mine sweepy?
