Windows loading freeze

AlexCom

Hello community,

Hope you are doing all fine :)

As the title says, my windows loading freezes from time to time, happened twice this week and I don`t know why.

The scenario is: I start my PC, it freezes in the loading screen, I restart, I choose start up normally and it goes without a problem.

Inside windows I don`t see any program freeze or something like that.

My SSD is Intel 530 Series 240GB. My first jump to a conclusion was the SSD.. and if it is, I would like to fix it somehow because I store pretty important stuff for work here. Or it maybe just a windows thing?

Also I have an OC on my CPU, maybe it is affected by that somehow? The OC is 4.5 ghz with 1.3 v on a 5820K.

If you need any other info, I`ll respond promptly.

Thanks,

Alex

Theres a simple command you can run to see if there are any errors with the windows files and if there is it will attempt to fix it, to do it you will need to run command prompt in administrator mode and type in sfc /scannow it will run and let you know if it found any errors or not.

Thank you, but, no errors in the scan... any other ideas?

In that case you're probably better off reinstalling Windows all together. I had a problem like this in the past, I never found the cause but a clean install did the trick.

Try disabling some of your windows start up programs, if you open task manager and go to start-up tab, try disabling programs you don't want running at start see if that helps at all.

I know how you mean, reinstalling windows is a little daunting, but the benefits of it do really shine through.
