corsair cx430 watt be enough for this?

ictdude1

i am building a family member a new pc since their old one got hit by a power surge, the only part i am able to reuse is the gpu since the rest is dead (even the hdd and optical drive got hit)

here are the parts in the pc and note nothing will be overclocked.

-gigabyte h87-hd3

-ram kingston hyper x blue 8gb (2x4gb)

-500gb samsung evo basic ssd

-core i5 4590

-geforce gtx 260 (their old card)

-basic asus optical drive

will the 430w psu be enough for this?

yes, 430w will be plenty. Although, it may be the case that the 500/600w is only a couple $ more, in which case it may be worthwhile should they ever want to upgrade.

P.s. I'd either go with an H97 board if you want to get a 4590 (Haswell refresh) since that H87 board may or may not have been updated with the latest bios.

Yes i will power up those parts. And no the CX 430/430v2 aren't made by Seasonic, they are made by Channel Well (CWT) and re-branded as Corsair.

But you will need an extra Molex to Pcie for that Gpu, if they dont really game on that Pc just leave the IGP.

And any reason to get a 500GB SDD?
