My computer just started taking forever to load dead rising 3 and I thought it was just the game being broken until I restarted my computer. This is what my HDD is doing. The only things I have set to run on start up is my teamspeak server my logitech software and razer synapse. Anyone know what the hell is wrong?

It shouldn't be, I don't have it set up to do backups automatically. Also the reads and writes look far too slow to be anything normal.

It says it's the system process.

1. Go to Control Panel> All control panel items > System
2. Click on Advanced system settings
3. Under performance, click on settings
4. Go to Advanced tab
5. Under Virtual memory, click on Change
6. UN-check "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" check box
7. Select your windows drive (where OS is installed)
8. Click on Custom size radio button
9. Set Initial size equivalent to your RAM size in MB
10. Set Maximum size to twice of your RAM size in MB
11. Click on Set
12. Click on OK thrice
13. Restart your system

 

 

Make sure your pagefile is at least the size of your RAM or when the RAM dumps it will fail to dump and probably crash the PC.

I think I may have figured out what my problem was. My mobo was set to IDE, not AHCI. I ordered an SSD and when it gets here I will reformat this drive and run some benchmarks to see if that was in fact the issue.

My SSD came in today and here are some bechmarks from HD tune. I think the issue was because of the IDE setting.

Look further into the issue... IDE mode isn't suppose to make the HDD that slow... unless it's really slow HDD

The drive was also really full, I had about 200GB free after maybe 20 minutes of running the utilization would go down and spike randomly though. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days and see if it starts acting up again but for now the SSD has solved the problem.
