TheRagingGamer

Is my PSU failing. It sounds like this

I took out the fans to make sure that they are not the problem and this is the sound it makes.

Specs: AMD FX 6300 @ 4ghz, Asus R9 270 OC, 8gb Corsair xms3, Cooler Master GX 550w PSU, WD 500 blue, Gigabyte  GA-970A-DS3

nope, i opened it so

you could keep using it until it died, or  you could get an replacement

if its coilwhine, it wont kill it, wont even damage it. but that doesnt really sound like coil whine to me

You really like taking the fans out of your PSU's don't you? Coilwhine is not a sign of your PSU dying.

maybe its the voltage regulator

Caps going maybe? If you have the bucks it's probably easier to replace than trying to fix.
