  1. Wouldn't using a regular pc radiator (e.g. h100 or wtv) heat the room exactly the same? since it's dumping that same heat in the room anyways?
  2. I highly disagree about the gold bracelet not being cheaper somewhere else
  3. the short throw and the lamp life are, in my opinion, the best things about this!
  4. A pair of sony headphones for my brother. He's starting his masters degree and using some 25$ in ears. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR1A-Premium-Hi-Res-Headphones/dp/B00NBMHY58/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449188457&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+mdr-1a

  7. Yeah wireless router, sorry i should have specified. Wireless router in the living room for best coverage of house and yard and a wire from the wireless router to the basement where tv, server/htpc, xbox are
  8. long story short: i have a home server/htpc and it's in a place with the xbox and blu ray (which are connected to the internet) plus a couple more free spots on the switch for future expansion. now my question is, in order to get the best (i.e. fastest) transfer speeds from my htpc/server (for streaming music, movies and files mostly wirelessly) would it be best to: 1) connect the router to the pc then the pc to the switch (and bridge the connection to share the internet with the switch) or 2) router to switch and all connected to switch? thanks a lot ppl

    Teaming

basically what I would like is to get the fastest speed from the (home/media) server in order to watch multiple hd streams of movies and music from it (multiple people living with me who have a thirst for movies/shows/music) and transfer files to and from it without affecting (or not affecting much) the speed and/or quality of the stream.

    Teaming

I have many options with my intel network card, what's the difference between link aggregation and adaptive load balancing? (when i select either it gives me 2gbps speeds). But which one is actually faster/better and what do they do? thanks guys

    Raid

i know hardware (with dedicated raid card) is best but what i want to know is between that, my motherboard's onboard raid and software(windows) raid, which is "safer". what i mean is, if I have an Areca raid controller and it breaks, do I need to get the same one for it to work again? (without losing my files) and same question goes for onboard(mobo) raid, do i need to buy the same mobo for it to work again? also, how does that work for software(windows) raid? if the system fails do reinstall windows and plug the drives in and not lose anything? thanks guys
  13. interesting, i guess the general consensus is the vario - set it and forget it - thanks for the advice guys now that the hard part is done, time to plan the rest of it!
  14. so it wouldnt spin up(turn on) if the pc is off and i want to fill up the system? it doesnt default to max or something? also, any reliability issues between the versions? and is there a benefit to have the pump speed ramp up? i read there is barely a difference.
