Asus ROG Strix z390 E vs MSi MPG z390 Pro Carbon?
Cpu i7 9700k
which one should i go with?
p.s: don't care about overclocking

Go with the ROG Z390-E for better overclocking.

I'd buy the cheaper one. Asus Z390-E has stronger power phases than the MSI Z390 Carbon, but Carbon has 5 phases rather than Z390-E's 4, making them equal.

get gigabyte aorus master or aorus ultra gaming as gigabyte's Z390 has best VRM per dollar.

 

also they have real finned heatsinks.

Depends on if your wanting to go heavy with a very solid vrm setup or not I would suggest doing some serious research to get exactly what you want. The the strix isn't honestly the best for the VRM set up neither is the Pro Carbon

Your welcome, the vrm setup has been the same on the Strix for a few Chipset generations for a few different chipsets as its based off the Asus Prime from z170 and z270 if i recall correctly and is gonna be pushing the upper limits of the vrm with the CPU you wanna run on it.

doesnt mention what model vrms, thats actually quite important.

The z390-e is ASP1400BT which is a 4+2 controller and actually has 4+2 real phases, with mosfet being NCP2032045 as well as the same mosfet and controller for the IGP for the strix. ;)

No not all of them mainly cause doublers are not listed on some boards. Otherwise everything else looked to be listed.
