Question about MSI COMBUSTOR

I have a question about MSI COMBUSTOR. I never used that program, so i am asking. Max temps on Kombustor is the same like for example in Crysis 3, Metro Last Light , 3dmark 13 or just higher? Can somebody check?

In my experience it was very bad for testing for stable overclocks. Temps were fairly representative of real world stuff but for testing an OC just go play a game.

I would use Valley or Heaven benchmarks from Unigine for testing stability for overclocks.

Probably better than kombustor and and the anomalies like stuttering and stuff are properly visible!

On kombustor ........you will get the max temps!

Kombuster is similar to Furmark. Both are a power virus program and are not reflective of a gaming load temps. It's also horrible for finding stable overclocks... I would suggest not to use them unless you like beating your card for no reason.

Crysis 3 will break any unstable overclock and will push your card harder vs. any other game or heaven and valley. To me, it's the ultimate test for stability (CPU and GPU). it's a shame they don't have a in-game benchmark.

It will be higher in Furmark, but will then throttle the clocks speeds to bring the temp near your temp target. What card do you have?

I'm sorry it probably won't get higher on the temps if you card throttles how it should. Yes that is correct, your clocks will be lower vs. Cyrsis 3 or Metro LL 

 

However 79-81c is pretty hot for a 770 Windforce, are you overvolted and overclocked?  Bad air flow or just have a low fan speed or auto fan speed set?

Still seems high given that cooler is strong. I would make an aggressive fan profile in afterburner or Precision to get your temps lower. They are too close IMO to the Nvidia enforced 80c throttle limit, and no room for overclocking

Because setting the target temp is broken and doesn't work well, at least in my experience. You try checking the box prioritize gpu temp.

I would suggest watching your boost clocks when your gaming - use the OSD feature on AB or Evga PCN.
