Probably not because of the higher resolution, especially with an overclock, however, due to there being 100 players, the CPU gets hammered and I'm not too sure off the top of my head how well Fortnite scales with more cores or whether it is more clock-speed dependent.

Hello, I currently have an i5-4690k and r9 380, if I upgrade to a gtx 1070ti or even a 1060 will I be able to take advantage of the GPU or will my cpu be bottlenecking the whole system?

I primarily play Fortnite at 1440p

After a little research I have concluded that Fortnite is not affected by clockspeed (going from 4.2GHz to 4.8GHz, going from 3 to 4 may potentially net some performance gain but anything over 4 I have no reason to believe will be worth it). However more cores seems to drastically help performance. 250 average FPS to 300 when GPU is not a Factor. This is at 1080p though so basically, I don't think your CPU will be a botteneck at all in this resolution.

I got i5 6600 locked. And playing fortnite makes the prosessor work at 80-90% with medium settings.
