IBM Model M

Hi,

I'm looking to buy an IBM Model M (silver logo 1st gen) and I've found one I like in the USA. 

Has anyone used a Model M and if so how do the buckling springs feel?

I've always thought of it being similar to mechanical switches (I'm using MX Reds atm)

I just want to know what it's like before I go and buy one and pay to ship it all the way from America.
