[Solved] ASUS Crosshair VI Hero WiFi Bios Flashback Not working

Giiman95

Hi all,

I have an ASUS Crosshair VI Hero WiFi that I’m trying to use USB BIOS Flashback to update to bios version 6201, but it does not work.

Trying to update to allow installation of my 2700x. Any tips?

There is a specific port that you need to use on the board. Are you using the correct USB port?

Make sure you name the file as specified in the manual.

Make sure file system is fat32 and it's MBR.

I am using the correct USB port (the bottom).

I went ahead and switched to a different flash drive and refromatted it. Trying a suggestion I found on redit for a name for the BIOS file.

These are the exact steps I used to fix this problem. Thanks to all who provided suggestions.

1. Format flash drive as FAT32 MBR. I called my ASUS.

2. Extract Latest BIOS to flash drive. For my board, it should be called "c6hwifi.cap"

3. Press and hold BIOS Flash Back button for 3 seconds.

4. Wait until BIOS Flash Back Button is no longer flashing blue and is not lit.

I hope this helps anyone else out there with this problem.

If there are any ASUS reps on the forum, please add this into the C6H WIFI manual please!

This is the port you are using right?
