So I was going to buy an h100i but then I realized that that wasnt a good idea if all I wanted was to get up to maybe 4.4 GHz, so I decided that I would buy a 212 EVO and 8 more ram but I dont know wether the EVO will fit with 4 sticks of ram on the mobo. Anyone know if maybe I can put the fan on the other side or if it will be ok?

Depends on your chip, not all Haswell chips are the same. But you should be able to get 4.4GHz on a good chip

[AMD Athlon 64 Mobile 4000+ Socket 754 | Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro nForce3 | OCZ 2GB DDR PC3200 | Sapphire HD 3850 512MB AGP | 850 Evo | Seasonic 430W | Win XP/10]

Yep. With the tall heatsink too.

Btw what is your CPU clocked at and how hot does it get. I understand that haswell is hotter but just curious.

If you were going to drop the $$$ on a H100i, why not go with the NH-D14 if the RAM fits? It is VERY quiet. If the RAM doesn't fit, just stick with the 212 evo as that is good as well

CPU: i7-4770k CPU Cooler: NH-D14 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb GPU: EVGA Superclocked 780 ti MOBO: ASUS Maximus VI Gene PSU: Corsair RM 850 Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M

Well the NH-D14 wont fit and it is like 50 bucks more than the 212 EVO when all I need is the 212

OK, I was just thinking that you could OC more if you wanted. But I understand, especially if the RAM doesn't fit.

Ahhhhhh, just stick with the 212 evo, it is very good and can handle your OC pretty well.

I'm not running a haswell chipset. But I have a 8320 with a 212 evo, and at around idle it sits around 30 c or so. And when loaded at 100% it stands right around 50 c or so. But yea its really a good cpu cooler, I would say maybe the best bang for the buck one out there.

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/

I've got Ivy Bridge.

3570K @ 4.2ghz does not go over 60C while gaming. But I haven't OCed the shit out of this chip yet. I haven't got to it. Right now it's at 4.1 with +0.010V and it's stable so far (haven't tested on Prime95 yet)

Looks are subjective.
