Help Upgrading CPU

I want to upgrade my dads CPU, it’s his OFFICE PC - EMachine ET1352G-03w (Ya I know it’s old), but I have a lot of New AM3 CPUs I bought a long time ago in a lot.  So, I used AIDA64 and can’t find anything about the Motherboard CPU that u can upgrade.  I don’t know if I can put any CPU into the socket and see if it works without damaging the MOBO or CPU.

 

I need help with this I want to upgrade the CPU and see the difference before buying a new Office PC.  I have included a AIDA64 summary screen shot.

 

And I just saw the memory is in slot 3 and 4. Should I put them in 1 and 2 slots for dual channel speed?

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 (95watt @3.5Ghz @1.40V), MOBO: ASUS M2A-VM, RAM: Kingston 8GB (4x2GB) DDR2 800MHz, GPU: nVidia GT 710 2GB DDR3 (OC’ed Clock to 1300Mhz and Memory to 950Mhz), STORAGE: 250GB HDD, 500GB HDD, COOLER:  Cooler Master 212 EVO, PC CASE: Cooler Master Q300L , FANS: 3 x upHere RED LED Fans (2 Front, 1 Back), PSU: Generic 300 Watt PSU.

It.... depends.

 

The socket is either an AM2+ or AM3, so you could theoretically buy any AMD processor that fits that socket and try it. The bios will support certain CPUs, but not others, but unfortunately I cant find the compatibility list for that motherboard. 

 

As for the memory, again, it depends. MOST motherboards use slot 1 and 3 for dual channel (and 2:4). But again, it depends on the motherboard. I'd run CPU-Z and look to see if the memory is running in single or dual channel mode. If it's not currently dual channel, try slots 1 and 3.
