best gpu for fragment shaders (aka pixel shaders)

lovelyh

Hi.

I'm thinking about buying new GPU. My main focus is not gaming, but creating very heavy fragment shaders. Like once on shadertoy.com.

I was comparing Nvidia 1080ti and AMD Vega64. And I'm bit confused.

According to 3dmark benchmark results 1080ti is far better ( benchmarks.ul.com ).

But according to Wiki Vega64 have more GFlops, so in theory it should have better results.

Can somebody with thous cards or similar check that link, and post how much FPS you have on witch card ?

www.shadertoy.com/view/4tByz3

I will be grateful.

On my current GTX 690 it is 7FPS in windowed mode. And 1.5FPS on fullHD fullscreen.

I'm also open for suggestions for different cards.

And yes, I'm planing to buy non RTX grapchis card just to do RayTracing. Nvidia, sue me. :D

I'm planing to buy used one on ebay, so it depend on auction.

1080ti are around 500GBP (I live in uk right now).

And AMD Vega64 around 350GBP.

I heard that quadros are very expensive, and the only different between quadro and geforce is amount of ram. So I don't think it will be beneficial in that case for me. Tell me if I'm wrong.
