Used server desktop

Hi, 

 

I've got an Xeon E5506 (FCLGA1366) + ton of DDR3 dims laying around and I'd like to make use of it. I'm looking for a nice used small server desktop that I could put it in. Doesn't have to be a server desktop as long as it'll support the cpu and has at least 4 ram slots available (6+ preferred).

 

Does anyone know a specific model that will fit with my €200- budget? There's so much to choose from, but I don't really know where to start. I'm currently looking at a Dell Precision T5500, but it's a bit too much for my budget. Anyone got any ideas?

It works very very good. However this is a dual socket motherboard

1366 Xeons are cheap, you can grab two X5650 hexacores for like 30 USD on Ebay.

If you want a standard ATX board, look for a normal X58 board.

 

Those can be pricey, but over here a working one will usually be between 100-200 USD. That is, unless you're looking for one of the more high end, expensive boards like the EVGA X58 SR-2 which will cost you at least $500 for even a dead one.

nah I don't have a tower to put it in.
