Insane 970 memory OC?

Hey guys, I got bored so I felt like playing with my clock speeds once again, ended up getting a stable memory OC at 4000 MHz (+550 MHz) is this beyond expected?

PC - CPU  Ryzen 7 2700X - GPU AMD Radeon RX570 - Motherboard Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite - RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeace PRO RGB 3200MHz - Storage 480GB Sandisk Ultra II SSD - 1TB WD Blue (X2) - PSU Corsair TX650M - Cooling AMD Wraith PRISM - Case Fractal Design Define R5

 

Peripherals - Keyboard  Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 Mouse Logitech G402/G403/G305 - Mouse Pad Steelseries Qck+/Glorious XL White  - Displays Acer XF240H 144Hz

I find that hard to believe, considering the GTX 970 runs the GDDR5 Memory at 7000 MHz effective (1750 MHz) already, I don't see how you are able to achieve 11000 MHz. GDDR5 isn't capable of running that high -- which is GDDR5X and GDDR6 levels.

 

Do you have a GPU-Z screenshot?

Done any stability tests with that speed applied yet?

eh, not out of the ordinary. There are a good number of Maxwell 970 and 980 that can't do that without capacitor mods though so definitely good result.

MSI Afterburner for example shows memory frequency as double the actual clock, or half the effective data rate. 8GHz GDDR5 isnt abnormal or anything.

Ohhhh...I thought he meant an additional 4000 MHz ON TOP of the stock 7000 MHz (or 3000 MHz on how MSi Afterburner shows it) ...

If it's just +550 MHz from stock, then I can see that.

If it's just +550 MHz from stock, then I can see that.

There are 1060 5GB samples that hit 10gbps on their GDDR5 :P but it's very likely that they run looser memory timings than other GDDR5 pascal cards. After all they do mine like crap.

Yeah, I've run six hours of Unigine Superposition, and 2 hours of GPU MEM TEST
