Replacing my drive

Hi LinusTechTips Forum,

  I am about to replace my drive and I just bought a 240GB SSD (already replaced my RAM) with a SATA-USB cable if I need to copy the files. There is one small problem. I know that my last drive controls my whole computer, but is it fine to copy everything to the SSD and then boot with the SSD? Like, is it going to be like, undetectable drive, or something?

Use Macrium Reflect for system clone.

If you want to be extra safe - install Macrium Reflect, prepare bootable Rescue USB (using Macrium Reflect option) and boot from that USB drive to made a clone. This way you'll clone system that is not in use.

Of course it's OS cloning software. That is what I was wrote in my first post.
