underperforming gpu?

Hey guys, I am not 100% sure but I feel as my computer is underperforming in games. My specs are an i7 4790, gigabyte rx 480 8gb, 24gb ram, ssd, etc. Im running windows 10 as well. When I play black ops 4 the game seems to not run exactly smooth, I get sometimes 80 fps and dip into low 50s and mid 40s in blackout at 1080p medium settings. However some other games seem to run fine, such as rainbow six siege, which i run in ultra at about 100 fps. I'd like to know, is my computer underperforming? or do I need to upgrade? And would a gpu or cpu upgrade help more, thanks!

try userbenchmark and look if you see anything weird first. if not, it might be time for a upgrade

Did you overclock your GPU? An excessive overclock can cause instabilities, glitches called artifacts and crashes, but it can cause low performance too.

In Black Ops 4, under graphics settings >  post processing effects 

 

Lower all those settings to the lowest and see what that does to FPS, then start raising them one at a time to see what works best for you.   Those post processing effects drastically change FPS. 

 

Edit:  my system is a Ryzen 2600, 1070, 1080p 144hz and if I let thet game load optimized settings I'm at like 90 FPS.  If I tweak a combination of low-med and high I can get it still looking good and 150 FPS+.

What’s the cpu usage? Also are the graphic settings on default like cpu management?

Cpu usage is about 80-90 and the cpu usage is on default

Well that would be the issue. But everyone on here says theirs runs fine. 

 

Not much you can for that game from what I can tell.
