Hi so i need a good laptop that can be a good driver but it needs to have a Dedicated GPU something good for Preimre Pro and Photoshop and needs to be able to run Visual Studio

Thinking about the $1000-$1500 Price Range

first i found it is not a Dedicated GPU Sadly but it would run well im guessing for this https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/hp-envy-x360-13-2-in-1-laptop-13-ag0011au-hp13ag0011#!specifications battery life would be awesome needs to last a day at school so about 8 hours

Thanks Chris

What's the Dell XPS lineup look like for you?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

With 10W/25W MX150:

1. Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14

2. Xiaomi Notebook Pro 15 - warranty concerns, good cooling (3.4GHz all core turbo for 8250U)

3. Asus UX461UN - soldered RAM

4. Asus UX430UN - soldered RAM, OKish keyboard, GPU throttling due to insufficient cooling for 25W MX150

5. Asus UX331UN - soldered RAM, OKish keyboard, thermal issue (common in 13 inch Ultrabooks with dGPU)

6. MSI PS42 8RB - many cons: OKish build quality, difficult maintenance, nosecam, 1x1 WIFI, OKish input devices

Too many issues as mentioned above, buy it ONLY if you really need the 25W MX150 and 1 upgradable RAM slot. Ideapad 720s 14 has 1 upgradable RAM slot too

but it has a core I7 what i would rather prefer for my needs

FYI i5 and i7 don't have much performance difference in ULV due to thermal and firmware limitations. And the PS42 doesn't have enough cooling to handle all core boost clock of the CPU, even the 8250U model.

i7 ULV doesn't really matter. You can upgrade storage later

You mean Ideapad 330? Avoid this model, mediocre

1 storage i rather not go though the whole process of reinstalling windows and pulling it apart thats what my NAS is for

2 i7 i would still prefer for some things and 3 no not the 330 im talking about the 720
