Hi guys i'm working on my first build and i stumbled upon a theory that didn't make sense. Someone said you should populate all the motherboard ram slots you can. My motherboard has 4 ram slots and i was planning to go for 16 gigs of ram. Should i buy 2 sticks of 8 gig ram or 4 sticks of 4 gig ram. I kinda like the 4 sticks option better because im getting rgb ram and 4 sticks would look better than 2? Will 4 sticks be any different than 2? If not ill just go with 4 sticks. Thx

There's no benefit in filling up your RAM slots. If you want to populate all four slots for looks, that's on you.

In fact sometimes it's a detriment, Ryzen does worse with more dimms per channel

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

But I'm using Intel so would it slow my pc down to get 4 sticks? I would like to get 4 if not. Not if it would slow down my pc though.

For gaming? Intel isn't particularly affected by ram population. I say go for it if you want.
