8700k 5ghz @ 1.30 not delidded (yet)

G.Skillz Trident 3200 16gb

Asus Strix Z370-E

H100i v2

AVX Offset 2

LLC 6

Ran cinebench 5 times in a row

Ran Prim95 26.6 (non-AVX) for an hour (leveled out between 68-72c)

I mainly game and do some 3D modeling for my printers. My CPU stays at almost 100% playing AC Odyssey and my GPU stays at 100%. (EVGA Classified 1080)

Just looking for some advice if I can do anything more or if I am heading in the right direction. Looking to eventually game on 1440 with at least 120hz refresh.

https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/intel/core_i7/i7-8700k#Overclockability top 80% is at 5ghz with more voltage than you and delidded, so you should definitly be able to go higher.

What is the perks of going higher on Vcore though? If I am stable at a lower voltage isn't that better? If I can go lower should I? I mean just for hear say and to say that I did it, I can try 5.1 or 5.2, but I am pretty happy staying at 5.

I meant that, with higher vcore you could definitly hit 5.1 and probably 5.2 or even 5.3. If you're happy at 5 though, you should just stick to your current voltage or see if you could lower it.
