NAS Steam backup folder randomly vanishes.

Hi all.

 

I have a Buffalo NAS drive that I use to back up my Steam games using Steams inbuilt backup feature. My problem is that 70-80% of the time my NAS' mapped drive letter L: doesn't show up in the drop-down box of available drive letters, even though it's working fine and is usable via windows. Occasionally it shows up, but not often at all, and not reliably.

 

I've been battling with this for months on and off and it is really starting to drive me to distraction.
