iPhone 5 won't turn on

Yes. I'm still using a 5, I'm poor. 

So a couple of days ago my phone got a tad but fucked. It wouldn't charge but still showed that it was charging, and when I finally got it turned on it showed a full green bar, even though it also said that it was at 0 per cent battery. I reset it, but it happened again today. Do you all have any idea of what it could be?

Also, I'm a bit tight on cash at the moment (always) so any advice on how to repair it would be great.

I would suggest you get a new battery. You could possibly watch an iFixit video as you do it. Or I would just suggest you to get a new phone or if you had the money take it to your local repair store.
