Anyone with experience using STX?

Does anyone on this forum have experience building rigs based on the STX form factor? Even better, has anyone done a build using a GPU? As these are mostly used for media boxes.

I'm pretty sure I have my parts selection, but I'm after advice on power delivery. I figured I'd ask here before hitting up the SFF forum and/or Reddit

Just a little thing to help you, you know mini-stx is the formfactor used in intel's nuc's? maybe you'll find some more people here

@LukeSavenije NUC's use a different form factor, just below the STX(which is also Intel developed).

The cool thing about STX is that it sits between mini-ITX and NUC, and actually has a socketed CPU. I only found out about it recently, and it's given me all kinds of compact build ideas.

 

the i5 and 1050ti I mentioned in the other thread DEFINITELY WEREN'T related to this. Oh no, not at all...

sounds like a pretty cool idea, but I like it more big and heavy. good luck finding someone who uses that kind of form factor

@LukeSavenije I've found myself moving to smaller and smaller solutions gradually these past few years. Not using my rig as much for gaming let me move from a full tower, to a laptop + egpu.

But hopefully, the build I'm planning should strike a good size/performance middle ground between the two.
