VPN Security

I know that VPN reduce what providers can see in your traffic flow but what actual security does it provide?

Does it help against man in the middle or other things like people hacking into routers to see what traffic is coming in and out?

Wondering weather it is worth getting tunnel bear or not and so curious to what extent VPN's actually affect?

If you are at home it's not a problem. At work it can be. There are tools can read browser generated HTML content on computer logged onto a domain account. This bypass any security, including SSL and VPN. Like that we can block site such as facebook, youtube even if the user is using a VPN, we simply shutdown the process remotely (which is done automatically with the software).

As having worked on these system and even programmed some, i highly advise you that if it's on a business network you should always follow the network agreement of the business. You should never access personal sensible information that have nothing to do with the business.
