hi people I Am not a techy person at all and I am trying to move my router and it is connected to this. Wtf is this thing

That looks like a powerline adapter. They transfer Ethernet to power and are very useful for running Ethernet to places where you can't easily run a cable to, or have a bad wireless signal.
