Question about CTRL keyboard led

Hello, I'm thinking of buying a new keyboard. I saw this keyboard on massdrop and I'm interested in the hot swappable feature. I also like the design but I'm curious if the led is on the pcb of the keyboard or is it on the switches? It would be nice if it was on a switch so it can be replaced too when it gets damaged.

They use SMD LEDs. Otherwise the hot swappable switches would be pointless, as you'd have to desolder the LEDs to remove the switches.

Thanks for the reply! Do you happen to know how long the life span of the smd leds?

From a quick Google search, it seems like it's 50-100k hours.
