Hey everyone, I'm looking to build an emulator system to use for parties and whatnot to play both Single and Multiplayer games for systems from early Nintendo up to probably PS2. I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible by using used parts so yea, I know the risks. I just wanna make sure that these parts are compatible since I've never worked with server components before.

I highly doubt you'd get too much done with that budget

Could always just save up for a bare minimum R3 2200G PC around $300 which should be fine

otherwise look for some kind of i5 2000 machine? But then the PSU is likely crap for any decent GPU

This machine is literally only for game emulators, so there's no reason for me to buy several hundred dollars worth of new parts. A ~3.0Ghz used Duo or Quad core server cpu and 4gb of RAM are more than enough to run basic gba and psx emulators. And I don't need a great gpu. I just don't trust integrated graphics on old cards. My work computer has an atrocious Geforce 8400GS and can run gbc and gba emulators fine
