Auno94

Hello There,

I am looking for a software that can be used to protocol Storage Wipes.

For HDDs, any software that will overwrite 0s and 1s onto the drive can be used. In the past, multiple passes of each overwrite were necessary to eliminate all remnants of data but, nowadays, one pass is sufficient. When I still used HDDs, I used CCLeaner's drive wiper.

For SSDs, overwriting data, and especially in multiple passes, will waste write life and is unnecessary. Instead, "Secure Erase" should be used. The manufacture's software that comes with SSDs will include SEcure Erase.

As long as anyone is oppressed, no one will be safe and free.

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!
