V-Sync Question

Go to solution Solved by zombienerd,

Vsync locks the FPS to your panel refresh, if it does its job properly.

It reduces load on the GPU by not rendering frames you're not going to see, freeing up those resources to make things prettier (in theory).

Please move my thread if needed.

First of all, I don't really know if V-Sync is what I'm talking about, but I'm referring to the option some games have to lock the FPS at a desired number.

For the sake of an example, say you have a 100 Hz monitor and your CPU is at 100% to keep up with the frame rate.

If you were to lock the FPS at 50 or lower, would that decrease the CPU stress?

Thank you
