Buying a used mining GPU

Go to solution Solved by Mick Naughty,

It’s all the same. Just get it. If it’s a deal. I’ll be buying a pair of used mining cards. No issues so far. Don’t forsee any either.

Hi guys,

My friend is selling his Mining GPU, it's a Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11G.
He used it for mining about 6 months ( more or less ) on undervolted power because of the high electricity bills.
I could take 2 photos from his computer, one for the card when mining, and one on idle, after about 10 minutes
As he said, the temperature did not exceed 66°C even on summer while mining.
The price is about 50% of our market price in my country, and i'm only buying it for gaming ( only on weekends )
What do you think ?

it is done well, the card should work fine and it's from someone (i at least hope) you can trust. but you will of course keep the downsides from buying second hand

I only need it to buy some recent games, not for 8 or 10 hours a day, i just play 2 or 3 days per week, for some hours and i take a rest between it. So let's say, i play for straight 2 or 3 hours, then take a break for 1 hour or 2, then play again

I take it that you still get warranty?

We don't have gigabyte warranty in our country ? and he told me that he's selling his graphic card to cover the cost of his wife giving birth.
So the price is about 50% of the market price and as you can see, those photos are from his actual rig.
I will try it on my computer before buying it, but not for too long, maybe a stress test, or running a game for 30 minutes
