Alright then. At least i know now so i'll save up with i can and wait for everything to come on in. Thanks man And thanks for everyone else.

However, I think a good picture of the power supply would help a lot, and maybe pull back the camera a little and shine a light in there for a clearer shot. Your motherboard definitely isn't standard with that chunk missing out of it, so it's possible a standard motherboard would still not fit.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

While you're at it, give us some glam shots of the front and the whole case. Do you know if it's a slim case or small form factor? This will contribute in your later acquisition of a graphics card because of size constraints. How about some measurements LxWxH?

You could try to throw this thing into it. But gains in performance won't be much better. If you really have no budget to do any major upgrades / rebuild of the pc then you might be able to extend the life of this thing by adding this graphics card and adding an SSD and some more RAM.

What is the spec on your RAM by the way. Frequency, pins ets. CPUz should have that info.

idk what else i should put

Tell us the model number of the Dell. It should be on the outside of the case somewhere ex: Dell Optiplex GX620

ALSO: is this processor a laptop processor?

That would explain that teeny tiny heat sink, as well as the alleged 65W power adapter

People are still selling this setup in 2018 though...

That is a very good looking case, hope it can be repurposed (if OP has that case)

sorry Umm, if anything i can run the CPU-Z thing again and give you some more details if any. Though from what i can see in front of the case the brand is 'inspiron.' THAT and the box says it's a 'inspiron 300 Model inspiron 3655.' I don't know if that'll add more detail

Edit: Oh crap i just saw the link on amazon lol. Yeah that's the same looking case i have lol

Another Edit: Is having a lapton processor on a desktop bad? o.o Is that a thing?

Laptop processors are not as powerful as desktop processors, but if you don't have a budget to buy a new computer...

You could try to throw this thing into it. But gains in performance might not be much better but now that we know it's a laptop processor it probably will be better. I think Adding more RAM wouldn't as much. I mean, i sorta forgot why it wouldn't work to begin with. What would the SSD do pre-say?

Unfortunately the 710 would probably be worse than the integrated R7 graphics. However, a graphics benchmark could shed some light on the situation.

@Ohm97 if you download Unigine Heaven, you can run the benchmark and tell us your score, and that can be compared online to see approximately what you'd get from the simple upgrade.

Also the SSD will enormously speed up normal usage of the PC. Web browsers like chrome will open and run faster, all of your games (on the SSD) will open quickly, and if you put windows on the SSD, it opens very quickly from cold boot. Overall, an SSD of any kind is the number one upgrade for an old system.

You can either reinstall Windows (which is the easier option but you lose all of your data kinda) or you can use a program like Clonezilla to clone your old drive onto the SSD. Make sure you get the same size drive though.

Its R5. But you do have a point. It wont be by much, if better at all. I was just excited to find a x1 graphics card. Didn't know they existed.

Just as rare as a PCI graphics card

last PCI graphics card ever made

There's quite a bit of quadros that are x1. I wonder if they would be any good lol. But they get kind of pricey so that defeats the purpose anyway. Not to mention I doubt the PSU would be able to drive it. @Ohm97 should stick to an SSD upgrad and a RAM upgrade. But SSD first. RAM is less important because he does already have 8GB.
