I'm moving a hard drive from my old computer to a new build and I don't want to lose all the files. Is it just plug and use after I install Windows 10 on my ssd?

Pretty much. There are a couple of ways you can clone the data from your old drive to the SSD,  then use your old windows install, but by just plugging it in you should get your files. Applications might not work, so cloning might be a better option. If you don't really need to use your old applications and are planning on reinstalling, just install the new programs then copy the data over.

I'm not sure what you mean by cloning, but I don't want anything on the SSD but a new windows install because I plan on giving my old computer to my brother with the old ssd + old windows. I don't have any other hard drive to clone to. There's just games, applications, and family pictures/videos.

You should be fine then, cloning is used if you want to keep the exact same install of windows but on a new drive.

Yes. Best is to not connect the hdd until after Windows is installed on the ssd.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
